BREAKING:FIA stewards accused of Verstappen pen…Read more

FIA Stewards Accused of  Verstappen Penalty Bias ,Controversy has erupted once again in the world of Formula 1, as FIA stewards face allegations of favoritism towards Red Bull driver Max Verstappen following recent decisions that many fans and analysts believe reflect a clear inconsistency in penalties.

The accusations intensified after the Miami Grand Prix, where Verstappen was involved in a series of questionable on-track maneuvers that went unpunished. Critics pointed out that similar incidents involving other drivers, particularly rivals from Mercedes and Ferrari, resulted in swift penalties earlier in the season. This has sparked outrage on social media, with fans using hashtags like and to call out what they perceive as double standards.

Former drivers and commentators have weighed in on the issue. Sky Sports pundit and former F1 driver Karun Chandhok remarked, “There’s definitely a growing concern over consistency. When you see similar incidents handled differently depending on who’s involved, it raises legitimate questions.”

FIA, however, has denied any bias. A spokesperson stated, “All decisions made by the stewards are based on the rulebook and reviewed with video and telemetry evidence. There is no favoritism toward any driver or team.”

Despite the official stance, many believe Verstappen’s status as a defending champion and a central figure in F1’s current popularity boom may be influencing leniency in decisions. Motorsport analyst Louise Goodman noted, “Max brings attention and drama to the sport, and whether intentional or not, it can subconsciously affect the level of scrutiny he receives.”

Team principals have also expressed frustration. Mercedes’ Toto Wolff commented post-race, “We just want consistency. If rules are broken, there should be consequences—regardless of who the driver is.”

With the season heating up and the title race tightening, the FIA is under increasing pressure to address concerns and maintain integrity in stewarding decisions. Fans and teams alike will be watching closely in the coming races to see if the governing body can restore faith in its ability to apply the rules fairly and transparently.
