Lance Stroll GP Withdrawal Sparks Concern, Aston Martin Issues Health S..Read More
Lance Stroll’s unexpected absence from the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix has raised serious concerns, prompting Aston Martin to release an official update regarding his health.
The Canadian driver, who had secured 14th place in qualifying, was withdrawn from the race shortly before the start. Amid growing speculation, Aston Martin confirmed that Stroll is still struggling with ongoing wrist issues related to a cycling accident from early 2023.
Team boss Mike Krack explained that while Stroll had been coping with the pain in recent weeks, his condition worsened significantly over the Spanish GP weekend. “The discomfort became too much for him to safely continue. His well-being had to come first,” Krack stated.
Following the incident, Stroll reportedly underwent a follow-up procedure in Barcelona to address the recurring problem. While the team remains optimistic, his availability for the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix remains uncertain.
“Our intention is for Lance to race in Montreal, but we will rely entirely on the advice of his medical team before confirming anything,” Krack added. In the meantime, reserve drivers Felipe Drugovich and Stoffel Vandoorne are on standby if needed.
While teammate Fernando Alonso managed to secure two valuable points with a ninth-place finish in Spain, the spotlight remains firmly on Stroll’s recovery ahead of his home race.
Further updates are expected soon as Aston Martin continues to assess the situation. Check back for the latest developments.
