The details of Lewis Hamilton’s new Italian residence have been revealed after the Formula 1 legend decided to make Milan his home. Following his impressive victory with Ferrari in the sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix, Hamilton, 40, has solidified his relationship with the iconic racing team by settling in Italy. According to Corriere della Serra, an Italian publication, Hamilton has chosen to live in Milan’s vibrant Porta Nuova district, which is located around Piazza Gae Aulenti and Porta Garibaldi station. This area has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, making it one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods.
Property prices in Porta Nuova reflect its affluence, with an average cost of €1.48 million. Although Hamilton reportedly considered homes in areas between Modena and Bologna, he ultimately decided on Milan, where he can be closer to the heart of Ferrari’s operations.
Porta Nuova is one of Milan’s key business districts, a project that began in 1997, and is home to several significant landmarks, including Italy’s tallest skyscraper, the Unicredit Tower. The district is also named after a historic Neoclassical gate built in 1810, which adds to its unique charm.
Milan joins an exclusive list of luxurious locations where Hamilton has invested in property. He purchased a residence near Lake Geneva in Switzerland in 2007 and a Monaco property in 2012, where he frequently stays when not competing in F1. In addition, Hamilton reportedly owns a ranch in Aspen, Colorado, a place where he indulges in his passion for winter sports during the Formula 1 off-season.
As of the end of 2024, Hamilton’s net worth was estimated at £350 million, making him the ninth wealthiest individual on The Sunday Times Rich List of people under 40. His wealth, fueled by his F1 career, sponsorship deals, and business ventures, reflects his status as not only a sports legend but a savvy investor in luxury real estate.
