Untelevised Max Verstappen message uncovered after Norris, Piastri collision

Unseen radio exchanges between Max Verstappen and Red Bull engineers have come to light following the dramatic collision between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at the recent Canadian Grand Prix. The controversial incident, which led to Norris being hit with a five‑second penalty, sent shockwaves through the paddock—including sparking a candid, unscreened response from the reigning champion.

Footage obtained post-race reveals Verstappen venting over his radio: “This world… it’s such a waste of time,” directed towards persistent questions over racer conduct and impending penalties. Frustrated after being repeatedly quizzed about his driving style and cumulative penalty points, the Dutchman grew visibly exasperated when his engineer brought up the possibility of another reprimand  .

Earlier in the race, Norris and Piastri collided on Lap X, triggering the safety car and ultimately rerouting the podium positions. Norris incurred the penalty after being deemed primarily at fault for the contact. Ongoing races have intensified broader tensions in F1, with Verstappen now just one penalty point shy of activating a one-race ban under the superlicence system .

Despite the mounting scrutiny, Red Bull boss Christian Horner defended Verstappen’s actions, praising his “squeaky clean” performance throughout the weekend, while backing his push to protest George Russell’s driving under the safety car conditions  . Verstappen, meanwhile, made his displeasure clear, cutting off moderators and demanding the conversations shift focus—especially in light of his recent close calls on the circuit.

The Canadian GP has thus spotlighted not only on-track friction but also gave fans an unfiltered look into Verstappen’s mindset under pressure—revealing the emotional strain behind his championship pursuit, as he teeters on the edge of a potentially race‑ending penalty.
