Brighton and Liverpool compete for a star.
The 19-year-old has been in impressive form for Stuttgart’s reserve side this season. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a left winger.
In just nine games in the Regionalliga Sudwest this season, he has managed six goals and an assist. His achievements at the Under-17 and Under-19 levels are impressive, and he has always been a prolific goal scorer.
According to transfermarkt, Paula’s contract with Stuttgart runs through 2024, giving clubs like Liverpool an excellent chance to sign him for a low price if the Bundesliga team is unable to sign him to a long-term contract shortly.
According to Guardian journalist Aarons, Liverpool have deployed scouts to monitor the German U18 star, but they are up against Brighton, who are also showing a lot of interest.
Examples of players who were signed for a little amount but later sold for a high price include Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, and Alexis MacAllister. So it won’t be a huge surprise if the Seagulls try to sign Paula.
Liverpool is also looking for young players with talent. If a young player is talented enough, Jurgen Klopp has given them opportunities to play for the first team. Liverpool may have a better chance of signing him than Brighton does because of Klopp’s connections in Germany.
Paula might be viewed as a player for the future if he moves to Anfield despite the Reds’ plenty of attacking alternatives.
