Coach set to welcome Everton manager Sean Dyche.
On Wednesday night, when Everton’s Sean Dyche comes to Turf Moor, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany anticipates that he will have a memorable experience.
Before departing towards the end of the 2021–22 season, Dyche led the Clarets for ten years at Turf Moor and experienced several highs.
The 52-year-old took over at Everton, who were in danger of relegation, in January and led them to safety. Now, in the Carabao Cup fourth round, he will play his old team at Goodison Park.
Dyche will receive a special welcome from the Merseyside traveling supporters after he successfully led Burnley into the Premier League twice and introduced Europa League football to Turf Moor in 2018. His rivals can also see why he stayed at his current club for an extended period of time.
“Yes, I believe it will be a great opportunity for him,” Kompany said.
I can somewhat connect to that since it was my first time playing for Manchester City. While there is always something unique about this occasion, this club has always been very stable overall.
How many managers have there been for the club in its history? It seems like a low number to me.
It’s a pretty solid club historically, and he clearly made excellent use of the time he had. He managed to get the squad promoted to the Premier League and back there again.
“I can truly respect what they’ve done throughout the years, and that is the kind of club it is. It’s a lovely club to hang out at.”
In the 141-year history of the club, Kompany is Burnley’s 29th permanent manager. Despite this, he comes into this match still bitter after losing badly to Bournemouth the previous weekend.
Jay Rodriguez’s goal in the 89th minute was eventually disqualified at Stockley Park following a thorough assessment by video assistant referee David Coote, depriving the Clarets of two opportunities to depart the south coast with a point.
Kompany was frustrated that VAR appeared to have missed a handball by Chris Mepham, a defender for Bournemouth, in the eighth minute of stoppage time, but he thinks his team will enjoy the quick turnaround.
“For us, it’s a chance to put the boots back on and walk on the grass,” he continued. That is the most effective method of communication, because regardless of who plays, the team is still conveying a message.
I would want to get back out on the grass as soon as possible if I were them. We’ve always talked about how vital it is to me that you reveal your true self throughout difficult times.
However, I don’t need to be persuaded by many of them since I am familiar with them, have seen them, and know how they will respond. I’m sure they’ll get back up and try again.”
Following his ban, right-back Connor Roberts will return, but Lyle Foster, a forward, needs to have his health evaluated.
