Dallas Cowboys owner wants to invest in another brand of football.

Would Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, be open to making an investment in a different kind of football? Evening Standard seems to believe that. Shortly after Jones’ workers arrived in the city on his mega-yacht, the long-running British newspaper said that Jones’ private jet touched down at London Stansted Airport. The Standard states that Stansted is the “nearest airport to (the town of) Tottenham,” where the well-known association football team Tottenham Hotspur F.C. is based. How on earth could he be doing this? City Spy speculates that he might be trying to acquire Spurs. The Standard obtained information from City Spy about the “most recent London news, business, sport, showbiz, and entertainment.”

“Jones’s spokesperson declined to comment on why he was in London, and Tottenham did not respond to a request for comment on whether its execs had met with him.”

At now, Tottenham, also known as the “Spurs,” competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. The team is occasionally included in lists of the world’s most valuable professional sports teams, along with the Dallas Cowboys. The club is currently worth around $2.8 billion, according to Forbes.

The Spurs are well-known in American football circles; since 2019, their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium field has served as a regular venue for NFL International Series games, holding two games in each of the previous three years. Spurs have signed an agreement that guarantees games will continue until the 2030 season. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy stated to Bloomberg in September that the team might consider selling ownership shares.
