Despite losing to French team RC Lens on Tuesday night, Martin Odegaard thinks Arsenal are ‘eager’ to play Premier League championship rivals Manchester City.

After seven games, Pep Guardiola’s team leads the league, but Arsenal can overtake them if they win on Sunday at the Emirates.

After being narrowly defeated by City for the trophy last season, Arsenal is seeking to win their first top-flight championship since 2004.

Last season, City overcame Arsenal in both league matches, but the north Londoners triumphed in the Community Shield matchup in August.

Tuesday’s Champions League match between Arsenal and RC Lens ended in a 2-1 loss for the Gunners. Gunners captain Odegaard said: It was not the best game for us.

We must persevere, draw lessons from it, and make sure we recover in the following game. We must proceed; that is all we can do at this time.

When asked if the matchup against City was the ideal match for Arsenal to make a comeback, Odegaard responded, “Of course.”
