Detroit Pistons Add Key Reserve to Injury Report vs…
Lately, the Detroit Pistons have had one of their newest additions on the court after his debut went on hold for a handful of games. After appearing on the court for the Pistons over the last four games, Grimes could get the night off on Sunday as he’s been added to the injury report. According to the Pistons’ injury report, Grimes is dealing with knee soreness. As a result, he’s been downgraded to questionable for the matchup against the Orlando Magic. Grimes landed with the Pistons on the day of the trade deadline last month. The former New York Knicks veteran was already dealing with a knee injury when he made his way to Michigan.
At the time, Grimes’ last on-court performance for the Knicks took place on January 30, when he had a 20-minute shift off the bench. Prior to the trade, Grimes had three consecutive absences. When he joined the Knicks, Grimes was out for his first five games. Last Saturday, Grimes made his Pistons debut at home against the Orlando Magic. He checked in for 26 minutes, shooting 25 percent from the field and scoring five points. In the following game against his former team, Grimes shot 44 percent from the field to score 14 points off the bench for Detroit. Over the last two games, Grimes’ minutes have decreased. He picked up just 14 minutes off the bench in both outings and showed clear struggles with his shot as he made just one of his 11 shots during that stretch. It appears lingering knee soreness could be the reason behind Grimes’ minimized role over the last two outings.
