FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts – The QB Jacoby Brissett of the Washington Commanders was re-signed by the New England Patriots, along with LB Anfernee Jennings, G Nick Leverett, and DT Armon Watts, who was signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers. The contracts’ terms remained a secret.

Out of North Carolina State, Brissett, 31, was first selected by New England in the third round (91st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he saw action in three games, starting two of them, and completed 34 of 55 passes for 400 yards. On September 2, 2017, New England dealt the 6-foot-4, 235-pound player to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.

Brissett has eight NFL seasons of experience.

New England (2016), Miami (2021), Cleveland (2022), Indianapolis (2017–20), and Washington (2023). He has started 48 out of 79 regular season games, completed 981 of 1,600 passes for 10,574 yards with 51 touchdowns and 23 interceptions, and participated in 79 games overall. Brissett appeared in three games during his previous season with Washington, completing 18 of 23 ball attempts for 224 yards and three touchdown passes.

Following his initial selection by the New England Patriots as a third-round (87th overall) pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Alabama, Jennings, 26, has played in four NFL seasons with the organization. With 21 starts in 45 games, the 6-foot-2, 255-pound player has accumulated 113 total tackles, 3 sacks, 2 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. Jennings appeared in 15 games last season.

Leverett, 26, made his NFL debut in 2020 with Tampa Bay as a rookie free agent after graduating from Rice. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound player was primarily a member of the practice squad during his rookie campaign in 2020. Leverett played in 11 games with 10 starts at left guard in 2022 after appearing in only two games in 2021. He has participated in 16 games overall, starting ten of them. Leverett participated in three games as a reserve last season.
