For several months now, it has been assumed that Tom Brady’s proposal to acquire a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders is finalized. However, the owner’s statement and recent events have left the former quarterback in a state of uncertainty. The NFL owners must still hold a vote before they can consider his bid to become a part owner of the franchise. All of the owners met again on Thursday, and it was anticipated that they would discuss Brady’s bid. However, it never happened because they felt there were other, more pressing issues that needed to be resolved before Tom Brady could become an NFL minority owner. The Raiders owner, Mark Davis, reportedly offered Tom Brady a 70% reduction for his ownership stake, but this is not in line with the opinions of the other NFL team owners, according to the Washington Post. Maximizing the value of all equity from each and every team in the league is their primary objective. Tom Brady’s purchase of five to ten percent of the team for a seventy percent discount below its market value would create a risky precedent for other prospective buyers. They can try to haggle for a comparable price by using that as an example.
