In the closing moments of Everton’s victory over Crystal Palace, Sean Dyche did something “really interesting.”

Joe Thomas of the Liverpool Echo stated that the manager of the Toffees appeared “nervous.”

Six points above the relegation zone, Everton’s position in the Premier League before their trip to Selhurst Park was fifteenth.

The Eagles were in the middle of the table and had only won one of their previous four games. Everton had the ideal chance to add another victory to their burgeoning resume.

Vitaliy Mykolenko scored again early on, and the Merseyside team were destined for a second straight draw until Idrissa Gana Gueye scored just four minutes before the end of regulation.

Everton had advanced eight points out of the bottom three with their sixth victory in nine games across all competitions, but Dyche appeared “apprehensive” as they waited for the end of regulation.

Joe Thomas stated on the Royal Blue podcast: “One of the things I found interesting was that the camera picked up Sean Dyche with about five minutes to go and Everton leading.”

He seems anxious and uneasy; I’m not sure if this was featured on Match of the Day. He never looked like that in an Everton dugout, as far as I can tell.

That, in my opinion, suggests that he realized he was about to make a greater advancement than what would appear from the results alone.

“Considering what came before it, the outcome had actual depth and significance.”

Over the course of the next month, Everton will play a variety of challenging opponents, including Manchester United, Newcastle, and Chelsea.
