England manager is keeping a watchful eye on Everton stars ahead of Euro 2024.
On Sunday, England manager Gareth Southgate personally assessed Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, two players for Everton.
Before the head coach selects his team for Euro 2024, Southgate’s team will play two friendly at Wembley in March against Brazil and Belgium.
When the England manager visited Merseyside over the weekend, he focused especially on the Toffees’ duo of Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin.
Under Sean Dyche, Branthwaite, 21, has shown promise this season and was considered for the starting lineup last month.
The Everton defender’s chances will be enhanced by his ability to play on the left side of two center backs, however Harry Maguire, Marc Guehi, and Levi Colwill can also play alongside John Stones, who is typically used on the right.
The news that Calvert-Lewin is fit again is also encouraging for Southgate, who lacks a conventional center-forward in his lineup behind Harry Kane.
The Toffees striker established himself as a mainstay in Southgate’s team, but injuries have hindered his development on the global stage.
Though Ivan Toney’s betting suspension is set to end next month, the Brentford striker will also be considered for a recall, Southgate is a fan of a fully fit Calvert-Lewin.
