Marcus Rashford’s poor recent run of play is reportedly causing Manchester United serious concern, and Erik ten Hag may bench the England star.

Ten Hag is facing pressure as a result of United’s poor start to the season, which has seen them drop six of their first ten games across all competitions. It’s their worst campaign launch in 37 years.

Rashford, who scored 30 goals in all competitions for United last season, has had a shaky start to this year’s campaign. He has scored just one goal so far this season and appears to be well behind the pace.

Rashford provided assistance for Rasmus Hojlund’s first goal on Tuesday as the Dane scored twice in United’s 3-2 Champions League loss at home against Galatasaray. This is the first time the club has ever dropped its first two group stage contests. Although he was one-on-one with the goalie, last season’s talisman chose not to shoot, which resulted in him missing Bruno Fernandes with a square ball across the six-yard box in the second half.

Rashford’s wasted chance brought groans from the Stretford End and left Ten Hag with a face like thunder. The Dutchman’s unhappiness with Rashford saw him hook the England international for the second game running with United behind.
