He claims that the Merseysiders “lead the race” to recruit the 16-year-old, although Leicester City and West Ham are also vying for his services. The right wing-back, who drew the attention of the club’s transfer coordinators, has previously had a trial at Goodison Park and participated in a youth team match as recently as last week.
Although Overy may not be the household name that many Everton fans were hoping to see on Merseyside in January, in the long run, he seems like a steal and may be an exciting addition.
