Everton supporters want to fly a plane over the Etihad to protest the loss of points.

This Saturday’s encounter between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium will be closely watched since it could have a significant impact on the Premier League title race. And for that precise reason, some Everton supporters have decided to hold a protest there against their most recent deduction of points.

A plane will be flown over the stadium to send a message to the Premier League in protest of the club’s 10-point deduction for breaking financial fair play regulations, according to fan organization The 1878s.

A huge event occurred in Premier League history last Friday when the Toffees were found guilty of breaking sustainability and profitability rules, making them just the third side to lose points.

The team had been steadily climbing the midtable under Sean Dyche’s direction. Nevertheless, they have dropped to 19th place after the ensuing 10-point deduction.

SUCCESS, NOT A CHOICE

The supporters organization had originally hoped to fly a plane above Goodison Park on Sunday night during their match against Manchester United in response to “a lot of requests”.

However, plans changed to take a different tack because the kickoff was slated for after dark.

On the ground, Sunday at Goodison should have a lively atmosphere. But now, the match between Manchester City and Liverpool on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium will take center stage in the skies.

The organizers are hoping it will draw in millions of viewers from around the world who are going to be watching this high-stakes match.

NOT YET REVEALED MESSAGE

The plan’s announcement was made public on X on Tuesday afternoon, but it omitted information about the message’s conclusion. The group did, however, promise to release a picture of the banner when it was finished.

It remains to be seen if broadcasters will highlight the banner during the top-of-the-table match.
