Everton’s star is wanted by Manchester United.

Manchester United may try to buy Everton player Amadou Onana after Casemiro sustained an injury after being struck in the ankle while representing Brazil internationally.

Casemiro asked to be substituted during Brazil’s 1-1 tie with Colombia in the 79th minute, although it is now unclear how long he will be out.

Onana is reportedly a long-term target for Manchester United, but the Liverpool Echo claims the Red Devils would have to “break the bank” to get him away from Goodison Park.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton thinks the Belgian international can surpass Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo, who over the summer moved from Brighton to Chelsea in a British record $115 million transfer. Caicedo is an international for Belgium.

Onana is normally a more advanced player than Casemiro, who prefers to operate in a more advanced role on the ball while the Brazilian tends to sit at the base of Manchester United’s midfield. However, Onana’s manager, Sean Dyche, recently indicated that the Belgian can play wherever in midfield.

The midfielder needs more development before Erik ten Hag will consider him good enough for his midfield, but Manchester United, particularly recently, aren’t exactly known for their transfer market prowess.
