Charles Leclerc has expressed his excitement about Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season, calling it a huge advantage for the team. Leclerc says Hamilton’s years of experience with Mercedes will bring new knowledge, fresh ideas, and a different approach that can help Ferrari grow stronger.
“When a driver like Lewis comes in, it motivates everyone across the team,” Leclerc said. “He brings so much experience and a different perspective, which is always valuable for a team like Ferrari.”
Leclerc addressed the speculation that Hamilton’s arrival might create rivalry or tension within the team. He made it clear that Ferrari’s identity has always been about the team as a whole, not just individual drivers. “Ferrari is bigger than any one driver,” Leclerc emphasized. “It has always been that way, and it’s the team that matters most.”
He also mentioned that the team has been working hard to prepare for the new season, completing their testing plans but recognizing that there’s still more work to be done.
Personally, Leclerc is looking forward to sharing a garage with Hamilton. “It will be amazing to have the most successful driver in F1 history as my teammate,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity to learn from him and, at the same time, challenge myself to compete at the highest level.”
Together, Leclerc and Hamilton aim to push Ferrari back to the top of Formula 1, working as a united force on and off the track.
