FIA Hands Out Post-Race Penalties After 2025 Miami Grand Prix After D…read more.

The 2025 Miami Grand Prix wrapped up with several late penalties announced by the FIA following detailed reviews of on-track incidents. Among the drivers affected were Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly, both receiving disciplinary actions for different rule breaches during the event.

Carlos Sainz, now racing for Williams, was officially warned after a last-lap clash with Lewis Hamilton. While no time penalty was added, the stewards formally noted the incident in their report.

Meanwhile, Pierre Gasly’s Alpine team was hit with a harsher consequence after violating parc fermé regulations, which forced Gasly to start from the pit lane instead of his qualified grid position.

Additionally, both Max Verstappen and Lando Norris had some of their lap times erased during the race because of repeated track limit violations, which impacted their final race positions.

Despite these developments, the Miami Grand Prix ended with a dominant McLaren performance. Oscar Piastri claimed his third consecutive win, leading a McLaren 1-2 finish ahead of teammate Lando Norris. George Russell secured third place for Mercedes, while Max Verstappen came in fourth.

These post-race decisions highlight the FIA’s ongoing commitment to upholding fair play and enforcing the rules, ensuring all drivers and teams compete within the regulations. The penalties also added extra drama to an already intense race weekend, shaping the championship picture as the season moves forward.
