FIA Hands Out Post-Race Penalties After Miami Grand Prix Review M…read more.

Following a detailed review, the FIA issued several post-race decisions that affected the final results of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix.

Williams driver Carlos Sainz was investigated after a last-lap clash with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton. While the stewards ultimately decided not to penalize Sainz for that incident, they did issue him a warning for an earlier race infraction.

In another case, Red Bull filed a protest against Mercedes’ George Russell, accusing him of not slowing properly under yellow flags during a virtual safety car. However, after examining telemetry and onboard data, the FIA determined Russell had lifted off enough, and the protest was dismissed.

Meanwhile, Alpine’s Pierre Gasly faced a penalty for breaching parc fermé rules, which forced him to start the race from the pit lane.

Despite these regulatory actions, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri delivered an impressive win, leading a one-two finish with teammate Lando Norris. George Russell held on to secure third place, while Max Verstappen, who began on pole, dropped to fourth after early challenges from the McLarens.

The FIA’s post-race rulings brought clarity to the final race classification and ensured all teams complied with the regulations.
