McLaren’s Oscar Piastri caught fans’ attention after the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race when he was seen closely examining Ferrari’s SF-25 following the session.
The first sprint of the 2025 season ended with Lewis Hamilton taking his first victory as a Ferrari driver. Piastri finished right behind him, and after the race, footage shared by F1’s official account showed the Australian carefully inspecting the red car. The lighthearted clip was humorously captioned: “Inspector Oscar is here…”
McLaren vs. Ferrari: A Renewed Rivalry?
Despite missing out on the sprint win, Piastri bounced back on Sunday, converting his maiden Grand Prix pole position into his third career F1 victory. Meanwhile, Ferrari’s weekend took a turn for the worse.
Following their P5 and P6 finishes, both Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified Leclerc for his car being underweight and Hamilton for excessive floor plank wear. As a result, Ferrari left Shanghai without points, dropping them to fifth in the standings.
With McLaren leading the championship on 78 points, questions now arise over whether Ferrari’s costly mistakes will prevent them from reigniting their thrilling 2024 title battle with the papaya team.
