Another Mid-Season Driver Swap Confirmed Amid Su…read more.

The Formula 1 grid has undergone yet another shake-up as Haas F1 Team confirms a mid-season driver change  their second in just a few months. Veteran driver Kevin Magnussen will be replaced effective immediately by 21-year-old Oliver Bearman, the Ferrari reserve driver who impressed earlier this year with a strong stand-in performance in Jeddah.

The decision comes amid mounting pressure on Haas to improve their midfield performance. Magnussen, who has struggled to find consistency this season, will step aside for Bearman, whose promotion has been described as “unexpected but promising” by insiders. Bearman becomes the second young talent to be fast-tracked into a full-time F1 seat this season, following Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s anticipated move to Mercedes later this year.

“This is a bold but calculated decision,” said Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. “Oliver has shown remarkable composure and speed in every opportunity he’s had. We believe this is the right moment to invest in the future.”

Bearman previously made headlines when he replaced Carlos Sainz at Ferrari for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, finishing a commendable 7th and earning widespread praise. His promotion to Haas, a Ferrari-powered team, further strengthens the ties between the Scuderia and the American outfit.

With this second mid-season swap confirmed, speculation continues to swirl about more potential changes as the 2025 season unfolds. One thing is clear — team dynamics are evolving fast, and the battle for seats is more competitive than ever.
