Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton has expressed concern over the team’s unexpected struggles at the Chinese Grand Prix, where they fell short of expectations. The seven-time world champion, who joined Ferrari after years of success with Mercedes, admitted that the team’s performance was disappointing and surprising.
Ferrari, a team known for its rich legacy in Formula 1, has had a difficult season, and their decline in Shanghai left fans and analysts baffled. Neither Hamilton nor his teammate, Charles Leclerc, managed to challenge the front-runners, with both drivers struggling for pace throughout the weekend.
Speaking after the race, Hamilton acknowledged the setback and emphasized the need for quick improvements. “It’s not where we want to be,” he said. “We’re working hard behind the scenes, but something didn’t click this weekend. We need to analyze the data and figure out where we went wrong.”
Ferrari’s lack of performance has sparked concerns about the car’s design, particularly its aerodynamics and race-day strategy. Hamilton, however, remains optimistic about the team’s chances of bouncing back. “Formula 1 is full of ups and downs,” he added. “We have the talent and the resources to turn things around. It’s just a matter of time.”
