Lewis Hamilton Delivers Harsh Verdict on Australian GP, Takes a Swipe at Ferrari Car
Lewis Hamilton did not hold back in his assessment of the Australian Grand Prix, offering a blunt response to his performance and taking a swipe at Ferrari’s car. The seven-time world champion, who made a high-profile switch from Mercedes to Ferrari, admitted that his experience in Melbourne was far worse than he had expected.
Hamilton had hoped for a competitive showing at Albert Park, but his race was plagued by struggles with pace, tire degradation, and overall car performance. Speaking candidly after the race, he acknowledged that things did not go as planned. “It was a lot worse than I thought,” Hamilton admitted. “We knew there would be challenges, but I wasn’t expecting the car to be this difficult to handle.”
Throughout the weekend, Ferrari appeared to lack the pace needed to challenge the front-runners, leaving Hamilton frustrated with his ability to extract performance from the car. Despite showing promise in pre-season testing, the race exposed several weaknesses that the team will need to address.
Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur also acknowledged the struggles but remained optimistic. “It was a tough race for us, and we understand Lewis’ frustration,” Vasseur stated. “However, we are committed to improving the car and ensuring that we are in a stronger position moving forward.”
Hamilton, known for his competitive spirit, emphasized that he remains determined to help Ferrari overcome their difficulties. “It’s only the beginning of the season, and we have time to turn things around,” he said. “The team is working hard, and I have no doubt we’ll make progress.”
Despite the disappointment, Ferrari remains focused on improving their performance for the upcoming races. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Hamilton and the team to see how they respond to these early challenges and whether they can get back into the fight for podiums and race victories.
