Lewis Hamilton Reacts to Disappointing Ferrari Debut: “Worse Than I Expected”
Lewis Hamilton has shared his frustration following a difficult debut with Ferrari, admitting that the experience was far more challenging than he had anticipated. The seven-time world champion, who made a highly anticipated switch from Mercedes to Ferrari, had high hopes for his first race with the Italian team. However, things did not go as planned, leaving Hamilton disappointed with his performance.
After the race, Hamilton did not hold back when asked about his first experience behind the wheel of a Ferrari in a competitive setting. “It was a lot worse than I thought,” he admitted. “We knew there would be challenges, but I wasn’t expecting this kind of struggle. There’s a lot of work to do.”
During the race weekend, Hamilton faced several setbacks, including difficulties with car balance, tire degradation, and a lack of overall pace compared to the front runners. While Ferrari had shown promise in pre-season testing, their race performance fell short of expectations, leaving both the team and their star driver searching for answers.
Despite the disappointment, Hamilton remains optimistic about Ferrari’s long-term prospects. “It’s only the first race, and we have a full season ahead of us. We need to analyze what went wrong, improve the car, and come back stronger,” he said. “I believe in this team, and I know we have what it takes to turn things around.”
Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur also acknowledged the difficulties but assured fans that improvements would be made. “This was not the start we wanted, but we are committed to working hard and making progress,” he stated.
With the Formula 1 season still in its early stages, Hamilton and Ferrari will have plenty of opportunities to recover. All eyes will be on the team in the coming races to see if they can address their issues and give Hamilton the competitive car he needs to fight for victories.
