Hamilton Ferrari debut CONFIRMED after huge FIA announcement

Lewis Hamilton’s highly anticipated Ferrari debut in Formula 1 has officially been confirmed following an important announcement from the FIA, which outlined plans for the early part of the 2025 season. Hamilton’s move to Ferrari is set to be one of the headline changes in what is already shaping up to be a thrilling season.

The 2024 season has been full of surprises, with unexpected developments in both the constructors’ and drivers’ championships. Red Bull, which appeared to be dominating at the start of the year, has faced significant challenges as the season progressed. Max Verstappen claimed seven race victories early on, but his momentum has since faltered. The Dutchman is now without a win in his last eight races, and Red Bull is struggling to maintain its supremacy. This shift has left the door open for an exciting and unpredictable championship race, which adds to the anticipation of what 2025 will bring.

One of the most significant stories for next season is Hamilton’s move to Ferrari after 11 successful years at Mercedes. During his time with the team, he won six of his seven world championships, cementing his place as one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 history. Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari is expected to shake up the grid and add another layer of excitement to the 2025 season.

In addition to Hamilton’s move, Aston Martin has confirmed that renowned engineer Adrian Newey will join their ranks, further reshuffling the balance of power in the sport. Newey’s arrival is seen as a major coup for Aston Martin, and with multiple driver changes also expected across the grid, the 2025 season promises to be one to remember.

The FIA has confirmed that Hamilton’s first official appearance for Ferrari will come during the 2025 pre-season testing, which will once again take place at the Bahrain International Circuit. This will mark Hamilton’s first timed laps in Ferrari colors after making the highly anticipated move during the winter break. Pre-season testing is scheduled for February 26-28, 2025, at the Sakhir track, where teams will fine-tune their cars ahead of the new season.

The 2025 Formula 1 season will begin with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, from March 14-16, breaking the recent tradition of opening the season in Bahrain. While Bahrain has been the venue for the first race since 2021, the switch to Melbourne as the season opener is part of the sport’s broader efforts to vary the calendar while keeping fan-favorite circuits in play. The Australian Grand Prix will be followed by races in China and Japan, making for an exciting start to the season.

Despite the change in the calendar’s opening race, the FIA has confirmed that a significant amount of freight will remain in Bahrain after pre-season testing, as the sport looks to reduce its environmental impact. The Bahrain Grand Prix will be the fourth race of the season, taking place from April 11-13, as Formula 1 continues its journey toward becoming Net Zero by 2030.

As the 75th anniversary season of Formula 1, 2025 promises to deliver drama both on and off the track. With Hamilton making his Ferrari debut, Red Bull looking to regain its lost form, and teams like Aston Martin making major strategic moves, the upcoming season is set to provide fans with plenty of memorable moments. The shifting dynamics within the sport will likely create intense battles for both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships, ensuring that Formula 1 remains as unpredictable and exhilarating as ever.
