Before their matchup with Manchester United on Sunday, Everton supporters will stage a demonstration outside Goodison Park against their team’s Premier League point deduction.

Following an independent commission’s verdict of financial rule violations, Everton football club was penalized with a record 10-point deduction. As a result, they were paired with Burnley at the bottom of the league with just four points.

Before their match against Manchester United on Sunday, supporters of the Toffees are expected to demonstrate their indignation at the punishment by holding up 38 thousand red cards.

When Manchester City played Liverpool on Saturday, a plane with a banner against the punishment flew over the Etihad Stadium.

It comes after a demonstration on Friday that saw Everton supporters assemble in front of the London Premier League headquarters.

The fact that Everton’s sentence was more severe than any in Premier League history has infuriated supporters.

On November 17, the team was handed the sanction following its £124 million loss during the 2021–2022 season. As a result, the team violated the league’s sustainability and profitability regulations.

Only nine points were taken away from Portsmouth for going into administration in 2009, but 115 charges against Manchester City have led to the club still being under investigation.

Legislators from the Liverpool area are requesting that the Premier League Commission reevaluate its ruling to dock Everton Football Club ten points.

While visiting Everton’s new stadium on the waterfront, MPs Ian Byrne of Liverpool West Derby and Kim Johnson of Liverpool Riverside both demanded that the decision be overturned.

Kim Johnson contends that the punishment ought to have been decided upon prior to the construction of the new stadium, which will ultimately cost an estimated £760 million.
