Ferrari Handed Damning Verdict by Former …read more
Ferrari has come under intense scrutiny following a stinging assessment by former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher, who criticized the iconic Italian team’s recent performances and decision-making. Speaking to Sky Germany, Schumacher expressed deep concern over Ferrari’s inability to mount a serious challenge to Red Bull and questioned whether the team’s current leadership has what it takes to deliver consistent results.
“Ferrari has the resources and heritage, but they keep falling short when it matters,” Schumacher said. “They’ve made strategic errors, they lack consistency, and that’s not acceptable at this level.”
His comments follow Ferrari’s disappointing display at the Miami Grand Prix, where both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz struggled to keep up with the front-runners, finishing well behind the dominant Red Bull and resurgent McLaren teams. While the SF-24 showed flashes of pace in qualifying, race-day performance once again raised questions about tire management and in-race decisions.
Schumacher also took aim at team principal Frédéric Vasseur, stating that leadership instability over the past few seasons has eroded Ferrari’s competitiveness. “They’ve changed team bosses and technical directors too often. There’s no clear direction, and the drivers are suffering because of it.”
The criticism comes as Ferrari prepares for the next round in Imola, where the pressure will be even higher on home soil. Fans and pundits alike will be watching closely to see if the Scuderia can respond to mounting criticism with a strong performance.
Ferrari has not won a constructors’ championship since 2008, and despite possessing a talented driver lineup and competitive budget, their repeated struggles have led many in the sport to question whether the team can reclaim its place at the pinnacle of F1.
Will Imola provide redemption, or reinforce Schumacher’s harsh verdict?
