Lucas Erceg earned the win by pitching two innings, while Mason Miller secured the save by striking out Anthony Volpe, Juan Soto, and Aaron Judge in the ninth inning. The Athletics’ pitchers held the Yankees to just three hits, marking the fourth shutout against the Yankees in 23 games this season.
The victory was significant for Oakland, which had not won at Yankee Stadium since 2021.
Aaron Judge struggled at the plate, going 0 for 4 with two strikeouts and hitting into a double play, lowering his season average to .174.
