Four of the first Louisville staff members are formally announced by Pat Kelsey.

Here’s the official statement released by the University of Louisville:

Head Coach Pat Kelsey of the University of Louisville men’s basketball team announced the appointment of assistant coaches Brian Kloman, Ronnie Hamilton, and Thomas Carr, as well as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach/Chief of Staff Eli Foy to his staff. Kloman, Carr, and Foy are joining Kelsey from the College of Charleston, while Hamilton is coming to the Cardinals after two seasons at LSU.

Additional coaching and support staff positions at Louisville will be announced in the coming weeks.

Brian Kloman:

Kloman has worked alongside Kelsey for the past decade, spending the last three seasons at the College of Charleston and the seven before that at Winthrop.

Kelsey praised Kloman’s extensive connections in college basketball, highlighting his role as the defensive coordinator and his exceptional recruiting abilities. Kloman expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized his commitment to restoring Louisville’s dominance.

During their tenure together, Kloman and Kelsey achieved significant success, with impressive records at both Winthrop and the College of Charleston.

Ronnie Hamilton:

Hamilton joins Louisville after two years as an assistant at LSU. Kelsey commended Hamilton’s versatility and described him as an exceptional assistant coach with a bright future in coaching. Hamilton expressed excitement about representing Louisville and helping the program achieve championships.

Prior to LSU, Hamilton spent four years at Ole Miss, contributing to the team’s success and helping recruit top talent.

Thomas Carr:

Carr, who spent the last two seasons at the College of Charleston with Kelsey, was praised by Kelsey for his recruiting prowess and ability to connect with players. Carr expressed his enthusiasm for joining Louisville and emphasized the importance of mentorship and player development.

Before his time at Charleston, Carr had coaching stints at various institutions, including NC State and UNC Wilmington, where he played a significant role in the programs’ success.

Eli Foy:

Foy, who served as the Director of Sports Performance at the College of Charleston, was hailed by Kelsey as an invaluable asset to the program. Foy’s expertise in strength and conditioning, coupled with his leadership qualities, makes him essential to the team’s success. Foy expressed his eagerness to contribute to Louisville’s winning culture.

Prior to his role at Charleston, Foy had successful stints at Winthrop and the University of Arizona, working with top-tier athletes.
