He cites Celtic’s stability compared to the turmoil at Rangers as the key factor in his prediction.
Last year, Boyd was confident that manager Philippe Clement would lead Rangers to the title, but Celtic ultimately won the league by an eight-point margin and also secured the Scottish Cup.
Rangers, on the other hand, were left with only the League Cup and a 3-3 draw at Ibrox to celebrate.
In his column for The Sun, Boyd admitted with a heavy heart that he believes Celtic will be champions again this season due to the chaos at Ibrox: “It breaks my heart to say this, but I think it’s certain Celtic will be champions again this season.
Rangers are facing too much chaos at Ibrox right now to make me think they can win the league.”
However, some fans are sceptical of Boyd’s motives, suspecting that he might be setting a low bar for Rangers only to later praise them excessively if they exceed expectations.
