Hamilton piles praise on Vettel in WHOLESOME exit speech

Lewis Hamilton recently expressed high praise for fellow Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel during a farewell speech ahead of his departure from Mercedes.

After 12 years with the Silver Arrows, Hamilton announced in February his shock decision to leave the team, opting instead to join Ferrari—Vettel’s former team—from 2025.

Hamilton will partner Charles Leclerc at the Scuderia, following in Vettel’s footsteps after the German raced alongside Kimi Räikkönen and later Leclerc during his Ferrari tenure.

Hamilton leaves behind an unparalleled legacy with Mercedes, forming the most successful partnership in F1 history with 14 combined drivers’ and constructors’ championships.

Despite a difficult final season with the team, Hamilton embarked on a farewell tour, visiting key Mercedes locations in Kuala Lumpur, Stuttgart, Brixworth, and Brackley to mark the end of his storied career with the outfit.

During his farewell address, the 39-year-old took a moment to honor Vettel, whom he described as “the best world champion” he knows.

Hamilton praised Vettel’s character, emphasizing his empathy, passion, and commitment to using his platform for meaningful causes, such as climate change activism and promoting equality within the sport.

“He’s far more than a driver,” Hamilton said in a video shared on social media platform X.

“He’s quick, we had great races together, but it’s his care for people and his willingness to take a stand that sets him apart.”

Hamilton noted that Vettel is one of the few figures in the sport to genuinely prioritize others, an attribute he deeply admires.

Reflecting on their fierce but respectful on-track battles, Hamilton said they shared some of the best races of their careers, cementing a bond that transcends competition.
