Horner drops Red Bull exit BOMBSHELL

Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, has hinted at the potential departure of Yuki Tsunoda if the Japanese driver is not promoted to the main Red Bull team in 2025.

This revelation comes during a week of significant driver changes within the Red Bull camp.

Liam Lawson has been elevated to the main team to replace Sergio Perez, while Isack Hadjar has been confirmed as Lawson’s successor at VCARB, Red Bull’s junior team, for the 2025 season.

Hadjar will partner with Tsunoda, who is entering his fifth season with the Faenza-based team.

Tsunoda, despite strong performances in the past two seasons, where he outshone teammates like Nyck de Vries, Daniel Ricciardo, and Lawson, has not secured a promotion.

Many expected him to be a contender for the seat alongside Max Verstappen, but the decision to promote Lawson suggests otherwise.

Horner acknowledged the dilemma, stating that keeping a driver in the junior team for an extended period without a clear path to the senior team might not be sustainable.

“You can’t have a driver in the support team for five years. You can’t always be the bridesmaid,” Horner remarked.

He suggested that Red Bull must either offer Tsunoda an opportunity in the main team or consider letting him pursue other options.

The situation underscores the high stakes within Red Bull’s driver program and raises questions about Tsunoda’s future if he fails to secure a main team seat next year.
