It’s possible that Arnaut Danjuma will experience an Everton freeze-out at Goodison Park.
Though he was rejected by the Blues in January in favor of Tottenham, 26-year-old Danjuma joined the squad on loan from Villarreal in the summer, but he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a mainstay at Goodison Park.
Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche must have been desperate for Danjuma to return to the team after he embarrassed them in January by choosing to sign a loan with Spurs.
He has only demonstrated that faith to be misguided thus far.
Danjuma has made ten appearances for Everton in all competitions this season, tallying two goals in the process.
He has only made three starts in the Premier League, though, and his lone league goal came in a September 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.
Danjuma hasn’t started any of Everton’s last five Premier League victories, which they have won three of them. The Netherlands international actually didn’t participate in either of the last two victories over West Ham and Bournemouth.
He did make an appearance off the bench in Everton’s previous two defeats against Liverpool and Luton.
Given that Everton is performing better without Danjuma and that he is just on loan, there appears to be a chance that Dyche would bench the winger.
The loan agreement between the Blues and Villarreal the Athletic does not include an option to buy, therefore the Blues won’t consider Danjuma to be a long-term Goodison option and won’t have to select him over others.
On Wednesday, November 1st, the Toffees take on Burnley in the Carabao Cup, and we anticipate Danjuma to start.
