Alabama Football Ties Up a Trio of Loose Ends on National Signing Date

On Wednesday, as National Signing Day unfolds across college football, the University of Alabama football program anticipates a relatively calm day. They will finalize their No. 2 ranked recruiting class by adding three prospects to the roster.

The bulk of the recruiting class already committed in December under the leadership of Nick Saban, leaving minimal tasks for Kalen DeBoer and his new coaching staff. DeBoer’s primary focus has been on securing the commitment of 5-star receiver Ryan Williams, who was previously part of the class.

Within a mere two weeks, DeBoer and his team successfully impressed Williams, leading to his recommitment to the program on January 24. Williams further reduced any uncertainty by announcing his decision to sign on Wednesday, rather than waiting until Friday, his birthday, as initially planned.

In addition to Williams, the Crimson Tide expects signed letters of intent from defenders Noah Carter and Quinton “QB” Reese on Wednesday. Carter, a 4-star edge rusher, was released from his commitment to Washington and chose to follow DeBoer and his staff to Tuscaloosa. He committed on January 25 after visiting The Capstone. According to 247Sports, Carter is ranked as the No. 8 player at his position.
