Celtic smash their transfer record, Rangers g…. £…m goal machine – the incoming £…m Pre… Read More.

With just over three weeks remaining in the transfer window, Scottish Premiership clubs are still busy in the transfer market.

Celtic is in need of at least one more striker, while Rangers also hope to bring in a forward if their finances allow.

Meanwhile, Hibernian expects to be active in the market, Hearts have completed most of their business, and Aberdeen’s main focus is retaining their star player, Bojan Miovski.

Scottish clubs have long accepted the need to sell their best talents, often at cut-price fees, particularly to English clubs.

However, in recent years, they have started demanding fair market prices for their players.

As the window nears its close, any departures will need to come with significant financial rewards to make the potential loss worthwhile.

Celtic’s midfielder Matt O’Riley is a key player who might be on the move. The club has received multiple offers for him, including three from Atalanta and another from Southampton.

Brighton is reportedly preparing a £25 million bid, which could persuade Celtic to part with O’Riley, breaking their previous record transfer fee set by Kieran Tierney and matched by Jota.

While Celtic has substantial funds available, it is unlikely that the full amount from an O’Riley transfer would be reinvested into the squad.

Celtic could also see the departure of center-backs Gustaf Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki, who have struggled for playing time since joining last summer.

The club spent around £7.3 million on the pair, and recouping at least part of that investment would be seen as good business.

For Rangers, manager Philippe Clement has acknowledged that he needs to sell players before making new signings.

Several players could be on their way out of Ibrox, though offloading them might prove challenging.

James Tavernier, the club captain, divides opinion among fans. Some believe it’s time for him to move on, while others see him as a key figure.

Trabzonspor and Besiktas have shown interest, and Rangers could potentially raise £2 million from his sale.

Ianis Hagi, with just one year left on his contract, could also be sold, with a £3 million return to Fiorentina rumored.

However, reports suggest he might even be allowed to leave for free. Todd Cantwell is another likely departure, with a move back to England seeming probable.

Rangers might accept a fee in the range of £3 million to £4 million for him.

Scott Wright has frequently been mentioned as a potential exit, but his recent involvement in games suggests he might stay. If sold, he could fetch between £1.5 million and £2 million.

Any funds raised from player sales could be used to target new signings, with Albion Rrahmani from Rapid Bucharest being a possibility.

Lawrence Shankland’s name has also been mentioned, though a move for the Hearts striker seems unlikely at this stage.
