Leclerc Brands Ferrari ‘P-Nowhere’ After Disastrous Emilia Romagna GP Qualifying

Charles Leclerc did not hold back after Ferrari suffered a nightmare qualifying session at their home Grand Prix in Imola, with both he and teammate Lewis Hamilton eliminated in Q2.

Leclerc qualified 11th, followed by Hamilton in 12th, as Ferrari endured their worst qualifying performance at Imola in recent memory. Despite bringing a major upgrade to their SF-25 for their first home race of the season, the team failed to deliver and left the Tifosi stunned.

A clearly dejected Leclerc was heard exclaiming “my god” repeatedly over team radio when informed of the Q2 exit. Speaking afterward, the Monegasque expressed his frustration bluntly.

“We’re just P-nowhere right now,” he said. “There’s simply not enough performance in the car. I keep saying the same thing—we don’t have the potential we were hoping for. We have to do better.”

He added, “I’m giving everything I can, but I can’t perform miracles. This is the car we have, and I’m trying to get the most out of it.”

Hamilton was equally disappointed, describing the result as “heartbreaking,” especially in front of the Italian fans during his first home race as a Ferrari driver.

“It’s tough,” Hamilton said. “We’ve made some real progress this weekend. The car felt better overall, the balance was good. But in Q2, when we switched to new tyres, we didn’t find any extra grip—unlike everyone else.”

“It’s a huge blow to everyone who’s worked so hard, especially for this home race. Not making it into Q3 is a really bitter feeling.”

Sky Sports F1’s Anthony Davidson pointed out that the Ferrari looked unstable through the chicanes throughout the weekend. “They weren’t bad in the first sector, but the performance dropped off afterward,” he said.

Ferrari now faces mounting pressure to turn their form around as they prepare for a difficult race day ahead at Imola.
