Ferrari Confirms Driver Lineup for 2025 Canadian Grand Prix

Ferrari has officially announced that Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will represent the Scuderia at the upcoming 2025 Canadian Grand Prix, set to take place on June 15 at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal. This confirmation puts an end to speculation about the team’s direction as the European season intensifies and the championship battle heats up.

A Star-Studded Pairing

Ferrari’s 2025 driver pairing is one of the most high-profile in recent Formula 1 history. Charles Leclerc, who has been with the Italian team since 2019, remains a central figure in their campaign. The Monegasque driver has shown impressive consistency this season and currently sits fifth in the Drivers’ Championship standings. Leclerc continues to mature as a leader within the team, contributing both on and off the track.

Joining him is seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who made the blockbuster switch from Mercedes to Ferrari for the 2025 season. Although Hamilton is still adapting to his new surroundings, he has shown flashes of brilliance and is currently sixth in the standings. His experience and skill are expected to be critical assets as Ferrari aims to challenge for both championships.

The SF‑25: Ferrari’s Title Challenger

The 2025 campaign has seen Ferrari field the SF‑25, a car built with championship aspirations in mind. Developed under the leadership of Technical Director Loïc Serra, with the power unit overseen by Enrico Gualtieri, the SF‑25 represents a refined evolution of last season’s package. Ferrari’s strong performance so far has kept them firmly in the fight with McLaren and Red Bull in both championship battles.

Currently sitting second in the Constructors’ Championship, Ferrari is keen to gain ground in Montreal. The Canadian Grand Prix, known for its fast straights and heavy braking zones, should play to the strengths of the SF‑25, especially with its improved traction and cornering stability.

Eyes on Montreal

The Canadian Grand Prix marks the sixth round of the 2025 season and is seen as a key mid-season test. Ferrari’s history at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is impressive, with 12 wins since 1967. The team will be hoping to add another victory to that tally, especially considering Hamilton’s strong record at the circuit—he has claimed seven wins there in the past.

For Hamilton, Montreal presents an opportunity to regain momentum. The British driver has called this a “crucial weekend” in his transition to Ferrari. Meanwhile, Leclerc will aim to build on his strong form and continue to lead the team’s championship push.

Weekend Schedule (Local Time)

Practice 1: Friday, June 13 – 13:30

Practice 2: Friday, June 13 – 17:00

Practice 3: Saturday, June 14 – 12:30

As Ferrari confirms its driver lineup for Montreal, anticipation is building for a dramatic race weekend. With two world-class drivers, a competitive car, and the pressure mounting, all eyes will be on the red team as they take to the streets of Canada.
