Just In: FIA Announces Disqualification of Charles Leclerc Ahead of C…read more
The FIA has confirmed that Charles Leclerc has been disqualified from the results of the recent Monaco Grand Prix, just days before the upcoming 2025 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
The decision follows an investigation into Leclerc’s Ferrari SF-23, which revealed a technical violation related to the car’s fuel system. Sources close to the investigation suggest that the fuel flow was found to be in breach of the FIA’s regulations, resulting in the disqualification of Leclerc’s 4th-place finish in Monaco.
In a statement, the FIA said: “After a detailed analysis and technical checks, it was determined that the Ferrari SF-23 did not meet the required fuel flow limits. As such, Charles Leclerc has been disqualified from the Monaco Grand Prix. Ferrari has accepted the decision and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigations.”
Leclerc’s disqualification does not affect his participation in the Canadian Grand Prix, set for this weekend. Ferrari confirmed that the car’s setup has been revised to comply with all necessary regulations, allowing Leclerc to race in Montreal.
Leclerc responded to the ruling with a brief statement: “It’s a tough result, especially after such a strong performance in Monaco. But I’m focused on the future and making sure everything is in order for Canada. We’ll give it our all on track.”
The Canadian Grand Prix will take place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on June 15, 2025, and Leclerc, along with the rest of the grid, will be looking to make up for lost ground in what promises to be a thrilling race.
What’s Next for Leclerc?
Despite the Monaco setback, Leclerc remains in contention for the 2025 championship. Ferrari’s quick action to address the issue signals their commitment to ensuring no further penalties will be incurred. Fans will be eager to see how the Monegasque driver performs as he aims to recover and secure a strong finish in Canada.
