FIA Launches Post-Race Inspection Following Monaco Grand Prix; Samples Taken from Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari

The FIA has announced a post-race inspection following the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari among the cars selected for routine technical analysis. The move comes as part of the governing body’s standard procedures to ensure all teams and drivers are operating within the strict technical regulations of Formula 1.

As part of the inspection, officials collected fuel and car component samples from Hamilton’s SF-25 chassis shortly after the race concluded. These samples will undergo a series of detailed checks at the FIA’s technical center to verify compliance with performance and safety standards. The process includes examining fuel composition, power unit parameters, and aerodynamic components to detect any potential irregularities.

Hamilton, who joined Ferrari this season after a historic tenure with Mercedes, delivered a strong performance around the tight and challenging streets of Monte Carlo. While he did not finish on the podium, his consistency and pace were notable as he continues to adapt to his new team and machinery.

There has been no indication of any wrongdoing or rule breach, and such inspections are commonplace, particularly at high-profile races like Monaco. The FIA typically selects a sample of cars from various teams, including front-runners and midfield competitors, to maintain fairness and deter any attempts at circumventing regulations.

A statement from the FIA noted: “As part of the standard post-race scrutineering process, a selection of cars, including Car 44 driven by Lewis Hamilton, was chosen for routine checks. Samples have been collected and will be analyzed in accordance with the sport’s technical regulations.”

Ferrari has not issued a formal comment but is believed to be cooperating fully with the FIA’s procedures. The results of the inspection are expected within the next few days. If any irregularities are found, the matter could be referred to the stewards for further review, although no such outcome is currently anticipated.

This inspection marks another example of the FIA’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the sport, especially amid ongoing technological innovation and fierce competition on the grid.
