Hamilton backing delivers DREAM result in shock Ferrari appearance

A driver backed by Lewis Hamilton has made a surprising appearance with Ferrari ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season. The seven-time world champion, who switched to the iconic Italian team during the winter break, has quickly garnered attention and support from Ferrari fans. His first test with the Scuderia took place at their Maranello headquarters, where he seemed to be settling in well. However, things didn’t go smoothly for Hamilton during a closed-door test at Barcelona this week. The Brit suffered a significant crash that required his car to be brought back to the garage for repairs, which marred an otherwise exciting debut with Ferrari.

While Hamilton’s arrival is one of the most talked-about changes for Ferrari, the team has been making other important moves behind the scenes to revitalize their efforts and return to the top of Formula 1. The past decade has been dominated by Mercedes and Red Bull, and Ferrari is hoping that with the right improvements, they can challenge for victories and championships once again.

One of the notable developments at Ferrari is the progression of Maya Weug, a 20-year-old Ferrari Academy driver. Weug has been promoted from Prema to MP Motorsport in the F1 Academy, aiming to build on her third-place finish in the all-female racing series from the previous year. While her future with the Scuderia remains uncertain, Weug is already playing an important role in helping Ferrari with their long-term plans. Her recent social media posts from Maranello have gained a lot of attention, as she has taken on the role of an informal mentor to young racing talent, sharing tips and advice.

One of the most heartwarming moments in Ferrari’s latest social media content involved nine-year-old Mahi Maru, a young girl who went viral last year after discussing her dream of becoming an F1 driver. Her video, in which she named Hamilton as her favorite driver, caught the attention of the seven-time world champion, who praised Mahi for her determination and focus. While Hamilton was unable to personally mentor the aspiring driver, Weug stepped in as a perfect substitute. Together, Weug and Mahi worked on improving Mahi’s lap times, with Mahi shaving seconds off her times almost immediately under Weug’s guidance.

This mentorship between Weug and Mahi highlights Ferrari’s growing efforts to nurture young talent, both on and off the track. While the team’s primary focus is obviously on competing at the highest level in F1, they are also investing in the future of motorsport by fostering young drivers like Maya Weug and providing a platform for aspiring stars like Mahi Maru. With big moves being made both on and off the track, it looks like Ferrari is positioning itself for a bright future in F1, and Hamilton’s presence could be a major part of their long-term success.
