Hamilton Ferrari race engineer confirmed

Lewis Hamilton is set to join Ferrari for the 2024 Formula 1 season, and as part of the move, he will work with Riccardo Adami, who will serve as his race engineer. Adami, who has extensive experience in F1, previously worked as the race engineer for both Carlos Sainz and Sebastian Vettel during their time at Ferrari. According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the experienced engineer will transition to the role of Hamilton’s race engineer, while Peter Bonnington, Hamilton’s long-time race engineer, will remain with Mercedes.

Adami’s background makes him a fitting choice for this crucial role. He worked closely with Vettel during the four-time world champion’s time at Ferrari and more recently had a successful partnership with Sainz. This wealth of experience is expected to be a key asset for Hamilton as he embarks on this new chapter with the Scuderia. The collaboration with Adami signals a fresh approach for Hamilton, who has spent the majority of his F1 career at Mercedes, working with Bonnington.

Hamilton officially joined Ferrari on January 1, 2024, after announcing the signing of a multi-year contract in February 2024. This move is considered one of the most significant driver transfers in F1 history, as it sees the British driver leave Mercedes, where he had achieved remarkable success, to join the legendary Italian team. The move has already generated immense excitement, as Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari increases the team’s expectations to deliver a competitive car that can challenge for titles.

Alongside Adami, Hamilton will continue his working relationship with his manager, Marc Hynes, whom he reconnected with in 2023. Hamilton will also bring with him several members of his personal team, including trainers, photographers, security personnel, and a communication specialist. This added support staff will help Hamilton adjust to the Ferrari environment and ensure his brand is properly represented both inside and outside the F1 paddock.

With such a high-profile move, there is added pressure on Ferrari to provide Hamilton with a car capable of competing for championships. Given the resources and expertise Hamilton is bringing to the team, Ferrari must work hard to ensure they meet his expectations and capitalize on the new partnership.
