Hamilton-Ferrari Relationship Hits Breaking Point as…Read More

Lewis Hamilton’s long-awaited move to Ferrari has taken a dramatic downturn, with the team officially launching an internal investigation into his recent slump in performance. The crisis comes to a head after a frustrating Spanish Grand Prix, where Hamilton finished a distant sixth — far behind teammate Charles Leclerc, who brought home a podium finish.

Hamilton didn’t mince words after the race, calling it his “worst” in terms of car balance and admitting there were “no positives” to draw. Ferrari engineers later confirmed that floor damage in his second stint significantly compromised his pace. In the emotional aftermath, Hamilton privately apologized to a Sky F1 reporter for a tense interview, highlighting just how much pressure the former world champion is under.

Ferrari’s investigation is focused on uncovering technical or setup-related causes behind the inconsistency. Early data points to understeer and balance issues, especially through medium-speed corners, forcing Hamilton to brake earlier and wear his tires faster than expected.

Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur defended Hamilton, suggesting a potential technical fault in the car and denying any team friction, instead blaming race conditions for communication lapses. Still, the contrast with Leclerc’s stronger performance has only fueled speculation about deeper issues.

Despite an encouraging start with a sprint win in China, Hamilton’s campaign has faltered, plagued by difficulties adjusting to the SF-25’s characteristics and some strategic setbacks, including a disqualification for excessive floor wear.

Ferrari is pushing forward with efforts to modify the car’s suspension and overall setup to better suit Hamilton’s driving style. With the championship slipping away — Hamilton now trails Leclerc by 23 points — the pressure is mounting for both driver and team to deliver a turnaround.

This investigation could mark a turning point in what was once seen as a dream partnership — now under real threat as the Ferrari-Hamilton alliance enters full crisis mode.
