Hamilton handed Ferrari BOOST following crushing Mercedes dig

Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 champion, has received a confidence boost from Ferrari as he prepares to leave Mercedes after 12 successful seasons.

Following this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Hamilton will embark on a new challenge with Ferrari starting in 2025.

Hamilton initially hoped for a strong end to his Mercedes career, with mid-season wins at Silverstone and Spa raising expectations.

However, his form has faltered since the summer break, with a second-place finish in Las Vegas being the sole highlight of a challenging second half of the season.

A disappointing 12th-place result in Qatar last weekend further emphasized his struggles, leaving the 39-year-old frustrated as he approaches the season finale.

Adding to Hamilton’s challenges, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff recently commented on a perceived decline in the 105-time race winner’s performance.

Though Wolff later clarified his remarks, they reportedly impacted Hamilton’s morale.

Amid these struggles, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has expressed full confidence in Hamilton’s abilities, dismissing concerns about his recent dip in form.

Speaking during the Qatar Grand Prix, Vasseur highlighted Hamilton’s remarkable drive in Las Vegas, where he climbed from 10th to finish just behind his teammate George Russell in second place.

Vasseur reaffirmed his belief in Hamilton, emphasizing that the veteran’s experience and racecraft make him a valuable addition to Ferrari.

As Hamilton prepares to turn the page on his Mercedes chapter, the support from his future team signals optimism for his upcoming Ferrari journey.
