Lando Norris Ruled Out of Upcoming Grand Prix Following FIA Co…read more

Lando Norris will not be taking part in the upcoming Grand Prix after being diagnosed with a two-count concussion, the FIA has confirmed. The McLaren driver sustained the injury during a high-speed crash last race weekend, and further medical evaluation revealed symptoms requiring immediate rest and recovery.

Though initially thought to be a minor incident, Norris began experiencing ongoing effects that led FIA medical staff to conduct a thorough neurological check. The results confirmed the presence of a concussion serious enough to sideline him for safety reasons.

“Lando’s health is our top priority,” said McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella. “While he’s understandably frustrated, we fully support the FIA’s recommendation and are focused on ensuring his complete recovery.”

Under the FIA’s strict concussion protocol, any driver showing signs of head trauma must undergo a mandatory rest period before being cleared to compete again. There is currently no confirmed timeline for Norris’s return.

McLaren has yet to announce an official replacement for the upcoming race, though reserve driver Oscar Piastri is widely expected to step in. The team now faces the added challenge of adapting their plans without one of their key drivers.

Norris, who has enjoyed a solid season so far, shared a message with fans on social media: “Really disappointed I can’t race, but health always comes first. I’ll be back soon.”

The Formula 1 community has responded with an outpouring of support for the young driver, wishing him a quick and full recovery. Further updates are expected from both the FIA and McLaren as the situation develops.
