Leeds United are on the lookout for reinforcements as the summer transfer window edges closer to its deadline. With several key players already having departed, manager Daniel Farke and his team face the challenge of filling the gaps in their squad to ensure they remain competitive in the Championship this season.
The Whites have seen some fresh faces arrive, including Joe Rodon, Jayden Bogle, Alex Cairns, and Joe Rothwell. However, the area of greatest concern remains the forward line. The start of the new campaign has highlighted this weakness, with Joe Piroe and young striker Mateo Joseph struggling to make a significant impact. The loss of Crysencio Summerville, a key player who moved to the Premier League, has only exacerbated these issues.
To address these attacking concerns, Leeds are reportedly turning their attention to Jusef Erabi, a promising young forward from Swedish side Hammarby. According to French journalist Marc Mechenoua, both Leeds United and Norwich City are interested in securing the services of the Sweden Under-21 international. Erabi has been impressive in the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top-flight league, scoring eight goals in 17 appearances this season, which has caught the eye of clubs across Europe.
Erabi, who has come up through the youth ranks at Hammarby, has become a regular in the first team over the last two seasons. He is under contract with the Swedish club until January 2026, which means any club looking to sign him would need to meet Hammarby’s asking price. According to Mechenoua, that price tag stands at €10 million, or approximately £8.5 million.
Leeds United are reportedly in ongoing discussions about a potential deal for Erabi, aware that they must act quickly to secure his signature before the summer transfer window closes. The young striker’s goal-scoring record and potential could make him a valuable addition to Leeds’ attack, which has been struggling to find the back of the net so far this season.
With the clock ticking down to the transfer deadline, Leeds are under pressure to finalize their squad and address their weaknesses, particularly in front of goal. If they can successfully bring in a talent like Erabi, it could significantly bolster their chances of competing at the top of the Championship this season.
