Lewis Hamilton ISSUE statement after a huge Ferrari CLASH today at Barcelona…read more

In a significant development during pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Lewis Hamilton, who recently joined Scuderia Ferrari, addressed concerns following a notable incident on the track. The seven-time World Champion was involved in a high-speed clash with a fellow Ferrari driver during the team’s private testing session.

The incident occurred on the second day of Ferrari’s three-day Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) program, scheduled from January 28 to 30. Hamilton was piloting the 2022 F1-75, familiarizing himself with Ferrari machinery ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season. The collision, which took place at the circuit’s challenging Turn 9, resulted in both cars sustaining damage, prompting an immediate halt to the session.

In an official statement released by Ferrari, Hamilton expressed his perspective on the incident:

“Today was a challenging day on track. During our testing program, I was involved in an unfortunate incident with one of our cars. The important thing is that both drivers are uninjured. These things happen in testing as we push the limits of the car and ourselves. The team is analyzing the data to understand what led to the collision, and we will learn from this to improve as we move forward.”

Hamilton emphasized the importance of testing in identifying potential issues and refining team dynamics:

“Testing is a crucial phase where we uncover areas that need attention. While today was a setback, it’s also an opportunity for us to grow stronger as a team. I’m committed to working closely with everyone at Ferrari to ensure we’re in the best possible shape for the upcoming season.”

Ferrari’s Team Principal, Fred Vasseur, also commented on the incident:

“Incidents like today’s are unfortunate but can occur during testing. The primary concern is the safety of our drivers, and we’re relieved that both are unharmed. We’ll conduct a thorough investigation to understand the cause and implement measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.”

This incident comes amid high expectations for Hamilton’s tenure with Ferrari. Having joined the team after an illustrious career with Mercedes, Hamilton’s move to the Maranello-based outfit has been one of the most talked-about transitions in recent Formula 1 history. The testing sessions in Barcelona were designed to acclimate him to Ferrari’s machinery and foster collaboration with his new teammate, Charles Leclerc.

Despite the setback, Hamilton remains optimistic about the future:

“Every challenge presents an opportunity. I’m more motivated than ever to push forward and achieve success with Ferrari. We have a talented team, and I have no doubt that we’ll overcome this hurdle and be ready for the season ahead.”

The team is now focused on repairing the damaged cars and resuming their testing program. With the season opener approaching, Ferrari aims to utilize the remaining time to fine-tune their performance and address any issues highlighted during these sessions.

As the Formula 1 community closely watches Hamilton’s integration into Ferrari, this incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of motorsport and the continuous efforts teams undertake to achieve excellence.
