Randy Orton Reveals His Preferred WWE Hall of Fame Inductor and Reflects on His… Read More 👇

Randy Orton, a name synonymous with WWE greatness, is undoubtedly a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Over his illustrious career, Orton has faced countless opponents, won numerous championships, and solidified his status as one of the all-time greats in professional wrestling. Recently, the SmackDown Superstar appeared on *What Do You Wanna Talk About?* with Cody Rhodes, where he candidly shared his thoughts on who he’d want to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame—a moment that, while not yet scheduled, seems inevitable in the near future.

When asked about the topic, Orton revealed that his choice for an inductor would be none other than his long-time rival, John Cena. This revelation might not come as a shock to many fans, given the storied history between the two Superstars. However, Orton himself seemed somewhat hesitant to voice this preference.

“I almost don’t even want to say because I feel like he’d hear this and then feel obligated,” Orton remarked, acknowledging the pressure such a statement might put on Cena. “But maybe John [Cena] at this point.” The respect Orton has for Cena was evident as he continued, “There’s a few reasons, selfishly, because I know that he would knock it out of the park. I know John could do me better justice than just about anybody because John’s John.”

Orton’s choice is rooted not only in their shared history but also in Cena’s unparalleled ability to deliver in big moments. “Of course, there’s other candidates,” Orton admitted, “but I feel like John would be at the top of my list. But I almost hate even saying it out loud, because I can’t imagine how busy that dude is with everything he’s got going on.”

Orton’s humility shone through as he discussed the idea further, noting that he tends to sell himself short. “I feel like, you know, maybe he would love to do it, but I don’t know that I could ask him,” Orton confessed, expressing a mix of hope and uncertainty about whether Cena would be willing or able to take on the role.

The deep connection between Orton and Cena is well-known among WWE fans. Their rivalry spanned years and became one of the defining feuds of the modern WWE era. Despite the intensity of their on-screen battles, there’s a clear mutual respect between the two, making Cena a fitting choice to induct Orton when the time comes.

As the conversation with Rhodes continued, Orton was asked about the possibility of having one more match with Cena, particularly during Orton’s rumored retirement tour in 2025. The idea of rekindling their legendary rivalry clearly resonated with Orton.

“I would love to work with the man and have a couple TVs or more to set it up and really make something special of it,” Orton said, his excitement palpable. Reflecting on their past encounters, Orton acknowledged that while their rivalry might have been overexposed at the time, it has since become a cherished memory for fans. “No matter how much we faced each other back in the day, almost to the point where people were sick of it… when people look back and think about it, they’re like, ‘Oh, Orton-Cena, wow. It was this amazing rivalry.’”

The idea of a final showdown between Orton and Cena is tantalizing, not just for the fans but for Orton himself. “To have that callback, that nostalgia concept, and to do it for the fans who I feel like they’d appreciate it, and we go out there and have some fun and tear the place down—I would love to do that,” Orton shared. However, he also acknowledged the unpredictability of such an event. “I guess, according to John, we’re just gonna let it… if it organically happens, it’ll happen, but I think it’ll happen. I think it’s in the cards.”

In many ways, Orton’s reflections encapsulate his entire career—a mix of careful planning, organic development, and a deep connection with both his peers and the WWE Universe. Whether it’s Cena inducting him into the Hall of Fame or facing off one last time in the ring, Randy Orton’s legacy is firmly cemented as one of WWE’s all-time greats.
