Esteban Ocon, the Haas F1 driver, bought a Ferrari 296 GTB shortly after signing a multi-year deal with the American racing outfit. The new ride will reportedly cost the French driver around $350K.

Ocon, the 28-year-old French driver, parted ways with Alpine at the end of the 2024 F1 season. His contract was expiring, and things didn’t work out for a potential renewal, leading to his exit from the team.

However, with his experience in F1 and past performances, Ocon received an offer from Haas F1, and he signed a multi-year deal with the team. He will partner up with rookie driver Oliver Bearman as Haas has overhauled its lineup for the upcoming season.

After signing the his new contract, Ocon made a significant purchase. He bought a Ferrari 296 GTB, which is reportedly worth around $350,000.

Esteban Ocon added a brand new sports car, the Ferrari 296 GTB, to his garage to mark the start of the new year in style. This model of Ferrari has an engine of 2992 cc with 645 horsepower and 740 torque.

The Ferrari 296 GTB also has an acceleration speed of around 2.9 seconds. Ocon bought a red-colored car with classic finishing, and the two-seater car is fitted with a V6 hybrid engine. It runs on petrol and has a mileage of 15.62 kmpl.

As for the price, the Ferrari 296 GTB Cuope version is sold at $350,000. As the pictures of the car rolled out, Ocon looked happy with his new purchase.

For the upcoming F1 season, Alpine has made a significant change to its drivers’ lineup. Esteban Ocon has left the team in favor of a move to Haas.

Meanwhile, Alpine wasted no time in replacing Ocon. Junior driver Jack Doohan emerged as the front-runner, and he ended up getting a seat as Alpine trusted his abilities and raw talent.

However, things turned controversial when Ocon was disallowed to race for the team and bid farewell during the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

In an emotional social media message, Ocon wrote:

“This is not how I wanted things to end. I would also like to wish nothing but great things to my friend Jack as he takes this next big step in his career at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.”

Alpine replaced him with Doohan for the season finale days after the departing French driver expressed his wish to participate in post-season testing with Haas.
