Red Bull Racing’s driver, Isack Hadjar, has successfully cleared a post-race inspection conducted by the FIA following his impressive performance at the Monaco Grand Prix. The announcement comes just days ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, confirming that Hadjar and the Racing Bulls team were fully compliant with all technical regulations.
Hadjar, who drives for Red Bull’s sister outfit, Racing Bulls, finished an impressive sixth in Monaco, marking his best result of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Teammate Liam Lawson also scored points by finishing eighth, giving the team a valuable double-points haul and boosting their constructors’ championship total to 22 points.
As part of standard post-race procedures, the FIA randomly selects a top 10 finisher for a detailed inspection. This time, it was Hadjar’s car that underwent scrutiny. The examination involved an in-depth review of several electronic and software systems, including:
- Software programs uploaded from the FIA Standard ECU, cross-checked with the homologated versions
- Team-submitted electronics files evaluated against on-car versions and CAN configurations
- DTV settings, whitelist parameters, and fixed parameters regulated by the FIA
- Compliance with Technical Regulation Article 8.5.1, ensuring car connectivity to FIA equipment
- Race data and configurations verified with the FIA’s independently offloaded data
- Real-time and logged data transfer aligned with requirements stated in FIA’s TD024G directive
After the comprehensive review, the FIA confirmed on Thursday that all elements of Hadjar’s car were in full compliance with the technical regulations, officially clearing him to race in the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
Hadjar’s performance in Monaco was particularly notable given the challenges he faced earlier in the weekend. During Free Practice 2 on Friday, the rookie driver suffered two crashes and showed visible frustration with his errors. However, he bounced back impressively, qualifying sixth and starting fifth on the grid after Lewis Hamilton’s penalty. His mature recovery and points finish highlighted his mental resilience and driving skill.
The young driver has earned widespread praise for his rookie campaign, including recognition from 1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill. Speaking on the BBC’s Chequered Flag podcast, Hill commended Hadjar for showing emotional strength and resilience. “He has actually surprised everyone, probably not himself, but maybe even himself. I’ve been impressed,” Hill remarked. “To go around Monaco, crash twice, break a wheel, and still come back strong to deliver in qualifying and the race — well done.”
Hadjar’s progress this season has been closely watched, and his Monaco result further cements his reputation as one of the standout rookies on the grid. With the FIA inspection behind him and momentum on his side, he now looks to build on his success at the Spanish Grand Prix, aiming to continue delivering points and growing as a formidable presence in the F1 paddock.
